Theodosian Wall
Istanbul, Turkey
The Theodosian Walls have guarded Constantinople’s landward edge since the fifth century, running from the Sea of Marmara to the Golden Horn — a fortification conceived between two waters. Harmattan’s performance walks the wall as a hinge between Europe and Asia, empire and ruin, the city’s Byzantine watermarks and its sprawling present.
