The Dam on the River

Rotterdam takes its name from a dam on the river Rotte — a city built, like Amsterdam, on the engineering of water. A decade after Sea Dike, Harmattan returned to the Dutch delta to make The Dam on the River, a performance with musicians about the dammed river and the harbor city that grew around it, most of which now lies below sea level.
